Anthony Friedli
Drum Teacher
From banging on pots and pans with spoons at 2 years old, to performing at numerous venues and music festivals around the U.S., Anthony Friedli doesn’t recall living a life that wasn’t heavily revolved around music. He acquired his first drum kit at the age of 4, and by age 10, had started playing the tenor drum and performing live with a local drumline. All the while, he had started teaching himself how to play the guitar and piano at home.
Throughout his school years, Anthony played the drums/percussion in his middle and high school ensemble groups, jazz bands, marching band, and drumline, where he set his high school record as the youngest student to join the snare line. Outside of school, Anthony played in a couple of bands and started accepting show offers by the age of 14. At 17, he joined a band that was signed to a record label, which solidified his desire to spend the rest of his life playing music.
Anthony is currently the drummer and co-writer in the bands Broken Robots and Whüzy, and also performs as a session drummer, playing for various rock, hip-hop, country, and EDM artists. Outside of performing, Anthony has produced several concerts and music festivals, has operated the lasers for some of the largest electronic artists in the game, and has also gathered other freelance endeavors in concert photography, film, and music production. He feels that music has truly given him a life worth living, and is honored to help guide and inspire his students here at School of Rock, specifically teaching the instrument that started it all for him.
