Rotimi Agbabiaka is an actor, singer, writer, director, and teaching artist. His solo performances Type/Caste and Manifesto received critical acclaim in San Francisco and have been performed at the National Black Theater Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and at OUTfest in Austin, Texas. He is a core member of BACCE, appearing in various roles in Bootycandy and as Delaware in An American Ma(u)l. He was recently cast in American Conservatory Theatre’s (ACT) production of Rocky Horror Picture Show in the seminal role of Dr. Frank N. Furter and was seen in the New York and ACT production of Suzan-Lori Parks’ Father Comes Home From the War. Other Bay Area credits include Sojourners (Disciple Ufot) and runboyrun (boy) at Magic Theatre, Hair (Hud) with Bay Area Musicals, Holiday High Jinx (Dancing Dan) with Word for Word, Choir Boy (Junior) at Marin Theatre Company, The Amen Corner (David) with Alter Theater, We Are Proud To Present … (Another Black Man) at Just Theater, and Raisin in The Sun(Asagai) at Cal Shakes. National credits include the world premiere of If Pretty Hurts… at Playwrights Horizons in New York. He is a collective member of the San Francisco Mime Troupe, a former cast member at Beach Blanket Babylon, and his solo play, Homeless, won Best Solo Performance at the SF Fringe Festival. He has done drag at Club Something and Hard French and has presented his writing at the Radar Reading Series and Queer Autonomous Zone. He also teaches youth theatre with Each One Reach One, SF Shakespeare, and the SF Mime Troupe Youth Theatre Project, and is the Features Curator for Theatre Bay Area. As a director he has worked with Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe to develop the tran-rock musical, The Red Shades, with the SF One Minute Play Festival and helmed the world premiere of VS. at TheatreFirst. Shirley Smallwood is an award winning vocalist and actor and a founding member of BACCE. A jazz singer, voice-over and spoken work artists, Shirley has been featured in many creative ensembles, including being featured as a vocalist in Prince’s New Power Generation. As an actor, Shirley has worked for more than 3 decades in the Bay Area and is currently working on a solo performance based on her father’s prioneering legacy in the Bay Area.
Indiia is a core member of BACCE ensemble, appearing in various roles in Bootycandy. Other Bay Area credits include San Francisco Playhouse productions of Dance Nation and all of what you love you and none of what you hate; African-American Shakespeare Company’s production of Antony and Cleopatra; Natalie in Bay Area Musical’s production of Hair, various roles in New Conservatory Theatre Center’s YouthAware production of Cooties, and the role of E in The Horse’s Ass and Friends at Repurposed Theatre. Indiia splits her time between Austin Texas and the Bay Area.
