Rock 101 is one of School of Rock’s major programs for kids and beginners. The patented School of Rock Method combines our core philosophy of performance-based music education with a unique curriculum designed for kids with no previous musical experience. Students have one weekly group rehearsal where they learn classic rock songs that have been simplified specifically for beginner musicians. These rehearsals get young musicians to learn the fundamentals of their instrument while playing with a band in a positive and fun atmosphere. Students also have a weekly private music lesson with an instructor who will help them rehearse performance songs while teaching them foundational music skills and concepts.
At School of Rock, the health and safety of our students is our top priority. Students can participate in our Rock 101 music program through interactive online lessons or in-school, socially distanced classes. Students choosing to take the Rock 101 program online are taught using the same famous, patented curriculum we use in our schools—The School of Rock Method™. These students will have weekly live online video lessons with their instructor and classmates instead of weekly in-school lessons.
Our rock programs for kids and beginners are designed to inspire students to learn and get them on stage performing, with the goal of building strong musical proficiency. Younger students who may have participated in the Rookies program can move to our Rock 101 music program once they’re ready. Additionally, students ages 8-13 can begin Rock 101 without any previous experience.
